Similar to bad weather tore through the northern region the prior day, City overwhelmed United away at the their home ground. It was a convincing three goal win for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their leadership claims as they strengthened their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Setbacks for United

This outcome marked back-to-back Women's Super League setbacks for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since last May, placing them seven points off the top team with their title hopes in serious doubt.
