In the final seconds, pure elation broke out for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández stabbed home a last-gasp equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and gifted the temporary Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch, making the recollection of Fernández's crucial intervention one to warm the 40-year-old in his dotage.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the City bench was the era's defining coach, a man with four decades of silverware for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match.
